This event features a ceremonial poem of moving beauty. The poem is recited by poet-shaman Maria Mar with live music, visual presentation and ceremonial guidance.
Dreams are never tiny is a poem that calls women back to their dreams. Their BIG dreams.
It begins:
Then it goes to call the women by name: Mary, Terri, Lilly, Nelly, Sally. Each of these women started with a dream of something they loved to do, a talent, a passion, a vision.
Then the poem begins to name the BIG enemies of dreams: habits, addiction, scarcity, dependence, lack of self-love, unfocused anger, victimization.
The poem proceeds to reduce the size of those problems that seem so big while increasing the size of the women's capacity and potential.
It leaves women with a message of hope and a call to overcome pain:
Through the unfolding of the poem, the audiences participate with simple movements, sounds, call and response, so that they are deeply engage physically, emotionally and verbally in the ceremonial journey to reclaim their authentic dreams and fuel their motivation.

In a mixture of conversation, journey, storytelling and ceremony, Maria Mar takes the audience through the magical process of creating one's life masterpiece. "It all begins with the mess you've created." Maria starts. "What we usually do with the messy parts of our life, with our mistakes or wounds is to judge ourselves or turn away in shame or avoidance. But that takes away our power to change. You can't change what you can't see and you can't heal what you don't feel." Then she shows the audience what she means using her quirky props, original illustrations and what she calls "shapeshifting" ~shifting your body and posture to fit your thoughts and emotions. Through the participatory process, the message begins to emerge. We are each the creator of her or his own life. The audience is prompt to look at the circumstances and results to find what part of the 'mess" they've created. Then they are guided to find the "message" in that "mess."
The audience is lead to playfully explore how they are creating the life they are living and given a set of creative tools to use:
The audience participates in creating a different reality using Image Theatre and other games and participatory devices. The result is a knowledge that has percolated from the logical mind into the heart, the body and the subconscious. Unforgettable. Practical. Self-empowering. Transformative.
